The light in the distance was still there, just as it had always been. There was no reason to hurry, and yet, somehow my steps grew a little faster. To have a place to return to— that alone is a kind of warmth.

Not by losing themselves, but by merging — softly, almost unnoticed — into a shade never seen before. When two colors meet, they do not compete. They create. To be colored is not to fade, but to widen. In the blending light, I become slightly, new.
